Incubator Campus
The Incubator Program is an intensive 5-year business support program that accelerates the successful development of start-up and fledgling companies by providing entrepreneurs with an array of targeted resources and services.
Participants in the Incubator Program are engaged in a regular formal financial review process in addition to on-going management guidance, technical assistance and consulting tailored to young growing companies. Participants also have access to appropriate rental space and flexible leases, shared basic business services and equipment, technology support services and assistance in obtaining the financing necessary for company growth.
A commercial kitchen is also available for those interested in food service or food processing. Over the past 23 years, 235 companies have graduated from the Incubator Program.
Today, the Incubator Program serves approximately 54 Incubator Program Companies in our 60,000 square foot facilities. The Business Incubator Center is the host institution for the Colorado Small Business Development Center (SBDC) for the region which provides free one-on-one business assistance and low-cost workshops. Revenue for this program comes from grants through the SBA (with a dollar for dollar private match) as well as from the small fee charged to workshop participants. In expanding our mission we will play to our strength in the one-on-one consulting arena to provide the sophisticated and innovative services offered through an Economic Gardening Program.
The Business Incubator Center is
nationally recognized as a leader in entrepreneurial business support. During its 23 year history, it’s been recognized with five National Business Incubation Association (NBIA) awards for its programs, clients and graduates’ performance. Communities from around the world draw on our organizational model for financial sustainability and focus on economic diversification as a best practice within the Incubation industry.
Impact on the Community
The Business Incubator Center now extends its reach throughout the region from Collbran to Craig and into all types of industries, including manufacturing, agriculture, construction and retail. The Business Incubator Center houses 54 Incubator Program Companies on site and works with thousands of clients each year. The Center’s role is to provide education and coaching to business owners and leaders, thus establishing an entrepreneurial infrastructure for the community.
The Business Incubator Center results include the:
• the launch of more than 235 companies,
• the generation of more than $146 million in revenue by these companies,
• the funding of 260 businesses in the community,
• the creation of 9,625 jobs, and
• the investment of $51.1 million in capital.
