S&S Innovations, a tenant here at the Incubator, is a finalist in the Colorado Companies to Watch – a state-wide program recognizing 2nd stage businesses that are developing valuable products and
services, creating quality jobs, enriching communities, and creating new industries throughout the state. Second stage companies fuel the economic fire of Colorado by acounting for much of the economic growth and economic independence of individuals throughout the state. The companies prossess attributes such as growth focused, privately held and headquartered in Colorado, 6-99 full-time equivalent employees, and$750,000- 50 million in sales.

Colorado Mesa University held their annual Grand Junction E-Day (Entrepreneurship Day) event yesterday, with keynote speaker Kenneth “Hap” Klopp, founder of The North Face. During the luncheon, they also had the Idea Challenge finalists presentations. From an initial 30 college participants, there were three finalists. The winners received cash awards. 1st place went to Chandler Burgeon, 2nd to the Incubator’s own Rachael Glenn (way to go Rachael!), and 3rd to Alex Swawnic. There was a round of high school participants as well, and 1st and 2nd place winners recieved $500 CMU scholarships and $50 gift cards.

Smoked Meats BBQ (BBQ Catering), Fragapparel (screen printing), Frosty Freeze West (Blue Bunny Ice Cream), Fuzebox 95 Music Center (music lessons), Infinity Design and Events (event planning), McCaracher & Associates (bookkeeping service), and TempOrthotics (medical technology).
