I am a Colorado native – born in Brush. After serving in the marines my goal was finishing college. After college my career in banking began and lasted 38 years. It was interesting to serve as a commercial loan officer as well as ag loans and management experience as a president of a number of banks. Some banks were small with a dozen employees, with the RTC, I managed 350 employees.
After banking, I served 3 years at West Central Housing in Delta, working with affordable housing. The following 3 years were with the Governor’s Office of Economic Development and International Trade.
In each community I have lived I have serves on various boards and commissions, past president of Rotary. Last year I volunteered for Forum 500 and read to a 3rd grader.
I enjoy volunteering at the Grand Junction SBDC because it gives me the opportunity to use my skills from past careers: perusing business plans, coaching as I did in banking to determine if the business idea(s) would provide adequate income. I have always enjoyed meeting people and the different interactions.
The motto I live by: “Keep busy & enjoy life”
